Horsemanship

Available to Junior & Teen Camps (Ages 8-18)

Camp Eagle Horsemanship Fincastle VA Roanoke VA

WHAT: We provide instruction in beginner horsemanship on Blue Ridge Farms in Buchanan on privately owned, well-trained horses.  Campers will ride the bus from the Camp Eagle to the farm with Camp Eagle counselors and return when the excursion is completed. Long pants are required. This excursion requires an additional release form for Blue Ridge Farms which needs to be signed before participation will be granted.  Click the button below to print your Camper's release form.  Complete the form and bring it with you to Camper Check-In. 

INSTRUCTORS: Head instructor Debbie Mooty has 30+ years of experience in teaching and is a certified Master Instructor through the VA Horse Center. Assistant Instructor Carrie Bradshaw has a degree from the University of Tennessee and has an extensive 4-H and show background as well as a professional work history with the equine industry.

COST: This excursion is an additional $40.

Paintball

Available to Teen Camps (Ages 12-18)

WHAT: Paintball is like a more challenging, high-stakes version of tag, hide-and-seek, or capture the flag. Paintball is a competitive game. It requires specific gear (goggles, a gun/marker, pressurized gas, and paintballs) so you can safely shoot at others and be shot at.  We recommend long pants and long sleeve shirts for this event. 

COST: This excursion is an additional $25. Price includes: Marker, 200 Paintballs, Goggles and 1 tank of CO2.  More paint can be purchased through the camper's canteen account.

Tube The James

Available to Teen Camps (Ages 12-18)

WHAT: Twin River Outfitters provides Camp Eagle campers with a lazy river tubing trip on the James River. The one and a half mile tubing trip has great currents and plenty of easy fun rapids making it fun for the camper. The steady down river current on the trip makes it unique.  Just sit back and enjoy the float and let the river current do the work for you.

Tubing is great fun, but you must come dressed appropriately. Dress in a bathing suit and appropriate river footwear. Correct footwear is tennis shoes or river sandals with ankle straps, NO FLIP FLOPS OR BARE FEET ALLOWED.  A life-jacket will be provided and is recommended for the entire float.

Campers will ride the bus from the Camp Eagle to the Twin Rivers Outfitters with Camp Eagle counselors and return when the excursion is completed.

Laser Tag Camp Eagle

Laser Tag

Available to Junior & Teen Camps (Ages 8-18)

WHAT: We provide an opportunity to participate in THREE laser tag missions! Laser tag is a live-action battlefield simulation that uses painless lasers and requires no bulky vests. Laser tag team missions require communication and team strategy on an actual battlefield arena.

COST: This excursion is an additional $18 for three games of laser tag.

RC Trucks

The Stampede is a high-performance monster truck that doesn't know when to quit! It can race to speeds over 25 mph while blasting through puddles & mowing through mud.  Driving the Stampede will quickly become your favorite monster truck action.  Crushing terrain, catching big air, and popping wheelies have never been so much fun!  You can sign up for this action at Camp Eagle.  This excursion can be purchased through the camper's canteen account. 

Cost: 20 minute for $12
